Glenn Abell is the Vice President & Head of LEGO Retail (direct to consumer) for Europe, Middle East and Africa which is a division of The LEGO Group, a privately held toy company based in Billund, Denmark. The LEGO Group is engaged in the development of children’s creativity through playing and learning. Based on the world-famous LEGO® brick, the company today provides toys, experiences and teaching materials for children in more than 140 countries.
In his role, Glenn is accountable for LEGO branded stores as well as the E-commerce platforms in EMEA and has a passion for the 1-to-1 relationship with the shopper and consumer. The LEGO Group enjoys a tremendously loyal consumer base, driven by a Brand which represents imagination, creativity, learning, quality and fun. In recent years, the commercial agenda, product development and marketing innovation have engaged consumers in ways that have helped the company expand its influence in the toy space and consumer products industry as a whole.
Glenn has been with The LEGO Group for 15 years holding various sales, marketing and general management positions in the United States, Canada and Australia prior to moving to London in his current role. Previous to his time with the LEGO company, Glenn worked in the US beverage industry for Evian, Cadbury Beverages and Anheuser-Busch in a variety of sales and marketing functions. Glenn has experience across company, industry and charity boards while frequently being asked to speak a universities and conferences.
His 20+ years of experience in the toy and FMCG industries has given Glenn a tremendous appreciation for the power of brands and people’s ability to identify with them.
